Each Mardi Gras Krewe has a Royal Court which is selected each year. Every Krewe is different, however most will include a Captain, King, Queen, Dukes, Duchesses, Prince's and Princesses'. Make sure to find out who is the Current Reigning Royalty for Mardi Gras in NWLA.

Mardi Gras celebrations are part of the basis of the slogan, Laissez les bons temps rouler, (Let the good times roll). On Mardi Gras Day, the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, the last parades of the season wrap up and the celebrations come to a close with the Meeting of the Courts (a.k.a. Bridge Closing Ceremony) which is held each year at the top of the Texas Street Bridge between the two cities of Shreveport / Bossier.
